This is a giant “liane” meaning a woody climber that persists for many years and having thick climbing stem. It reaches top of big trees and form canopy on the top of these trees. This is a speciality of forests of western ghat area of India.This species shows big thorns that easily reach length of more than 4-5 inches. These thorns are found spreading in all directions and everywhere on the stem.They gives very horrible look, which can easily fit in to some horror movies.It has very apt botanical name Dalbergia horrida. It is a member of family FABACEAE.I came across this climber about 10 years back. It took me two years to find the flowers and pods. I collected the dry pods and sow it in the backyard of my factory. Now it has grown quite well and taking up proper shape. You can see it in this video
